Reflections On the Mind of Christ

Wednesday, December 31, 2025

The spiritual mind (the awakened mind of Christ within) sees through the lies and distortions of this world and knows that the problem the alcoholic has is not with the alcohol, but with themselves. If you take away their alcohol, are they still an alcoholic?

Spiritual things are typified by natural things. Spiritual truths are expressed using analogies of things in the natural world, because things in the natural world are ‘as’ and ‘like’ things of the spiritual world.

Our physical hearts have no doors, but we say things like ‘the door to my heart’ or ‘the key to my heart’ when speaking of spiritual things, so that we may communicate a greater, spiritual truth. The spiritual realm is a greater, higher realm than the natural. The natural realm has no life, no animation, no consciousness outside of the spiritual realm from which it flows and manifests.

The spiritual is supernatural, in the sense that it is a higher dimension of reality than the natural. The body is seen in motion (flesh, natural), but what moves the body (spirit, supernatural) is neither seen nor witnessed by our natural senses. But, spirit IS seen and witnessed by our spiritual senses.

Just as the physical eye sees physical phenomena, so does the spiritual eye see spiritual phenomena.

Think of it this way: two people in a relationship can be living in the same house, in the same room, eating at the same table, sitting on the same couch together, and still be ‘a million miles apart’ spiritually.

The spiritual mind sees that spiritual distance and recognizes the spiritual (internal) issues creating that distance. The natural mind ‘feels’ spiritual separation, but the natural mind always thinks that changing something in the natural, outward world will fix the problem. So the natural (unawakened, dreaming) mind seeks some type of external (natural) solution to an internal (spiritual) problem.

The natural mind makes external changes, thus treating the symptoms of the ‘dis-ease’ instead of the root cause of the problem. And because the spiritual origin of the problem is not addressed and healed, the malady is often suppressed and can even remain dormant for a period of time. But eventually, the issue will rise to the surface again, often in another form or expression, and usually to a worse degree.

Until the spiritual reality of the heart and mind is honestly addressed and dealt with, nothing can be said or done to repair the severed relationship or heal the spiritual wounds of the soul.

The real world consists of much more than the natural mind can fathom. The natural world emanates and issues forth from the spiritual world. Spirit is cause. Nature is effect. The real world is the reality of the soul within, not just the shallow, external facade seen by the natural eye and presented to the world.

The real world is the reality of that spiritual bond, or lack thereof, that closeness of heart, or lack thereof, felt between you and your spouse or loved one, and between you and your own soul.

Reality is more than the outward pretend world of the natural mind, where spiritual reality is swept under the rug of self-deceit, and where the reality of the soul is abandoned for the temporary sustenance of the outward man alone.

Have you been awakened by the Spirit within?

Do you now have eyes to see and ears to hear the Spirit?

Leave the temporal world to itself.

There is an entire kingdom within you.

Look within for reality.

Cast off the facade of the natural mind.

Come into the mind of Christ (spirit) within.

Come into reality.

Life is good here in the Light.
